Sexual Reproductive health and Rights

Sexual and reproductive health projects have made it possible to strengthen public awareness about responsible sexuality, contraception, and the popularization of the Maputo Protocol (African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights on the Rights of Women in Africa).

Financial Empowerment of Women and Girls

Empowerment projects have focused participants on learning trades that can generate income. These have also contributed to the financial autonomy of women and girls

The organization Femme de Bonne Nouvelle led a project for the economic reintegration of widowed women in the rural commune of Oicha in the territory of Beni. This project aimed to contribute to the empowerment of 100 women by learning market gardening and financial management.

Political Participation and Female Leadership

FFC is stepping up its efforts and strengthening its strategy to facilitate the ownership and effective participation of women in political and social governance with the aim of preparing and educating more women before the 2023 national elections. A total of 20 women leaders from political groups and those from civil society took part. The participants came from the provinces of North Kivu, Ituri, and Tanganyika. This training was repeated in Goma

Sexual and Gender-Based Violence

The projects addressing sexual violence have made it possible to build the capacities of women and girls including knowledge about their rights and the legal instruments protecting them and to set up school clubs to fight against sexual violence. These clubs are made up of girl students who carry out awareness and advocacy actions to fight against this scourge in schools and in communities, becoming themselves agents of change

Climate Change and Environmental protection

Our parners LSC has set up a biogas project

Through FFC’s support, 32 women-run households in urban and rural areas implemented a project to promote access to renewable energy in Turunga, North Kivu Province

 

Conflict Management and Transformation

The Fund for Congolese Women, with the support received from UN Peacebuilding, is implementing the project to promote women’s participation in peacebuilding through peace huts.  As part of this project, FFC has subsidized nine projects and organized two meetings. Peace negotiation projects have made it possible to set up peace huts under the leadership of women who work to resolve conflicts in their communities.
