FFC supports local groups because they believe that grassroots initiatives are the motor of real and durable change in DRC. FFC funds local organizations, in earlier stages of their development, which cannot access financial support from other donors. Though accessible application and reporting procedures, both linguistically and technically, FFC’s goal is to ensure that emerging or low-capacity but hardworking groups can reach much-needed funds.

Aside from providing financial resources, FFC support beneficiaries with training in project management, planning, budgeting, monitoring, evaluation, and resource mobilization, enabling them to successfully seek funding from other sources and expand their activities in the future.

FFC brings recipient organizations together to share best practices and identify effective strategies to address common challenges. FFC facilitates knowledge sharing among local groups from different provinces and brings closer women of diverse communities. In doing so, FFC has strengthened the Congolese women’s movement. It is important to note that FFC helps make visible the positive impact of grassroots by organizing awareness campaign. FFC do advocacy with local, national and international actors to ensure that more and better resources are devoted to Congolese women’s and girl’s rights.
